We too

Village folks
We farmhands
We seed planters
We water carriers
We who water plants
We who harvest crops
We who tend the lands
And herd cattle and sheep
And water the soil to grow grapes
We who sing sad songs at funerals
We who carry coffins to the graveyard
Yes, we custodians of, and tellers of stories
Yes, we too, we too, are departing this land
To foreign lands to grow trees with no roots
To distant lands to grow homes with no memories
We too are leaving to join the unwanted and merely tolerated
Dollin Wilson-Ovaroh Holt is a scholar, poet, storyteller, essayist and a humanitarian practitioner.
Over the years, Dollin has been involved in charity work, culminating in the creation of Caprecon International Development and Humanitarian Foundation, a helping organisation dedicated to education and training, amongst other humanitarian efforts.
Dollin is a graduate of the Universities of East London and Bedfordshire, England.
Dollin is widely travelled and lives in Luton, in the United Kingdom.
